Calsilica (also called Rainbow Calsilica) is not a naturally occurring stone but, rather a man-made synthetic stone manufactured from a mixture of calcite and resin. The different colored bands swirling around in calsilica beads are actually powdered rock that is colored and stabilized with resin. Ideal for many jewelry and craft projects. Mix and match for your own unique creations. And since our beads are handmade, there may be slight variations from one bead to the next. Images are stock images.
When listing beads on the internet we try to select items that are similar and set aside unique strands that might surprise the customer. However, there will always be some variation in stone beads, lamp work glass and other one of kind or handmade items. When we listed some olive "jade" (serpentine) rectangular beads we pulled the dozen strands that were most similar for the internet, but all of the variations were reserved for our retail store. In person, you might choose ones that were more opaque and less translucent, ones that were more speckled, or ones that had a more brown color cast. Often the exceptions are unique and most sought after, but we attempt to minimize surprises to our on line purchasers. If you are after the most unusual, you may have to stop by.
